Starfall
Starfall.com opened in September of 2002 as a free public service to teach children to read with phonics. Our systematic phonics approach, in conjunction with phonemic awareness practice, is perfect for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, special education, homeschool, and English language development (ELD, ELL, ESL). Starfall is an educational alternative to other entertainment choices for children.

PBS Kids
Looking for fun activities and games you can do with your kids throughout the day to help them learn to read and write? You'll find them here, along with recommended books and tips to get your kids wild about books and reading.

Funbrain
Since 1997, kids, teachers, librarians, and parents have enthusiastically turned to Funbrain for its free educational games, online books, and comics. Funbrain, created for kids age preschool through grade 8, offers more than 100 fun, interactive games that develop skills in math, reading, and literacy. Plus, kids can read a variety of popular books and comics on the site, including Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Amelia Writes Again, and Brewster Rocket.

National Geographic Explorer for Kids
National Geographic Explorer For Kids is an online version of the award winning magazine.

Storynory has published a new audio story every week since November 2005.

Jumble Kids Online
Jumble Kids Online Interactive word jumble and crossword game.

Highlights
The Highlights kids magazine in an online website form with stories, jokes, kids news, current events, and reading and language arts games.

Storyline Online
Developed by The Screen Actors Guild Foundation, Storyline Online features accomplished actors and actresses reading some of their favorite children’s books.  Each story comes with a free Activity Guide and can be viewed on YouTube or SchoolTube.  Rainbow Fish, Wilfrid Gordon Macdonald Partridge, and To Be a Drum are just a few of the books available.

Barnes and Noble Online Storytime
From The Kissing Hand read by author Audrey Wood to Pinkalicious read by Victoria Kann, Barnes and Noble’s Online Storytime has popular children’s books read out loud.  While there are no supplemental materials to accompany the stories, this free site is perfect for “Listen to Reading” stations.

Tumblebooks
Students can follow along as the text is read them to help improve comprehension and fluency.  Choose from picture books to chapter books. (Must link to Chester County Library).

ABCYa
ABCYa is a leader in free educational kids computer games and activities for elementary students to learn on the web. All children's educational computer activities were created or approved by certified school teachers. All educational games are free and are modeled from primary grade lessons and enhanced to provide an interactive way for children to learn.
